spell check

Ric Jackson

I have windows XP home and outlook express 6 I can't get
spell check to work on my mail. If I hit outlook help it
promps me to have word pad or office. I do have works 7.
please help. Ric

you aren't a "highly skilled technical" person. You're a
vulgar, onoxious looser who offers mostly criticism and
very little help.

You must have a program such as MS Office or Works Suite (Works 7 won't do)
installed. OE does not have a spell checker built in, it uses the one in one
of the programs I mentioned. There are third party spell checkers that will
work with OE. I suggest you do a search in Google

Outlook Express, as you've discovered, has no spell-checking
capabilities of its own. Instead, it relies upon the presence of
other Microsoft applications, such as the Office Suite, Word, or the
Works _Suite_ (which includes Word, not the regular Works). There are
also some 3rd-party shareware/freeware solutions available at any of
the many shareware sites on the Internet

Spell Magic seems well thought-of, though I haven't tried it myself:

Most people who can be described as "highly-skilled" have a job or have
worked at some point in their lives. Or they could have been educated in the
"highly-skilled" field in question. You don't qualify on any count.

Next time put a few smileys after "highly skilled," Agnes.
