spell check

We just upgraded to this new XP edition. It has notepad
and wordpad for word processing. Where in the world is
spellcheck and grammar check??? Please tell me it is
there somewere....

Spell Check was never part of the Windows Operating System. You need to
have MS Word, MS Works, or MS Office installed.

Neither NotePad nor WordPad have any spelling or grammar checking
capabilities. If you want such features, you'll need to purchase and
install a word processing application that has them.

I am wondering ther same thing, not only is spell check
missing, so is ditionary, thesaurus, and word count. I am
a student And i don't want to count all the words.
where has it gone?
