My new computer has Windows XP Home edition installed. I
am used to using Windows 98 for word processing but, when
looking for spell check or trying to figure out how to
double space a document, I'm coming up empty! First, are
these features available on XP or, if not, can I reload
my Windows 98, second edition onto the new computer? Any
help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Spell check is not included in Windows XP. You need an 'office' program for
that. What 'word processing' program did you have?

What you request is not a feature of either XP or Windows 98, it is a
feature of a Word Processor. You likely were using such an application with
Windows 98 and in order for you to have this functionality in XP you need a
the same type of application a word processor. The WordPad applet included
with both XP and 98 is minimalist word processor and while pretty good for
what it does, it does not have a spell check function.

Default line spacing is again, a function of the word processor, you need a
word processor such as MS-Word in order to have access to such features.

Works has a spell checker.
