Hello,
I've updated my computer hardware (motherboard processor ram bigger HD and I
ghosted my old HD to the new one and réinstalled winxp and everything work
fine except my internet connection. I can no longer connect to the internet
using my SpeedTouch USB because it's not recognized as a modem and I can't
add a new connection with the assistant cause of this (When I try "connect
using a broadband connection..." it says to me everything has been
configured and should workd but don't ask me for an username/password and
don't add any connections. When I try the assistant supplied with the
drivers, i can't add a connection because it detects no modem). It's though
well installed with the lastest drivers and present into the hardware list.
What can I do ? Please help me.

I have this modem too.
It does not install under modems in device manager but
under alcatel usb modems.
I have found that it will not let you select it unless it
is connected and powered on. It does not realise it is
there to select from unless it can actually see it at the
time you run the wizard.
Hope this helps a little.

Ah, well i suppose you have checked the connection is
active.
I have had no problems with this so I hope someone else
can help you.
