Hello newsgroup readers,

I'm testing Windows Vista on 5 PC's. I got it working on 4 of them. 3 are
running with all drivers but on the last I'm searching for one driver...

It's a notebook with an AMD Turion 64 X2. It runs at 1600 MHZ all the time.
On XP it runs at 800 MHZ an takes only more MHZ if it's helpful. To get that
"SpeedStep" I installed a special driver for the processor. Unfortunately
that driver doesn't work on Vista.

Do you know any driver for the AMD "SpeedStep" function, working on Windows
Vista? Is there any chace to control it manualy in the Vista System?

Thanks for help
Florian

SpeedStep is for Intel processors. For AMD there is the Cool'N'Quiet or
PowerNow software. I haven't seen Vista versions yet.

Thank you for you response. The PowerSaving system of the Turion X2 seems to
have another name:)

Now I try the rmClock Utility an it works not bad. With XP I've 4h batterie
power and with Vista an rmClock i got 3h, better than the 1,5h without
rmClock.

Another tool that seems to help to save power is chystalCPU. Maybe I'll try
it if I've some time left :)
