What do i need to do to control the actual programs that
run when i start Xp and show up on the task bar at the
bottom right of screen? Please help!!!

Hi Ric,

Start/run msconfig and go to the startup tab.

Personally, I recommend that you open each program that loads at boot and
check within its own settings first, you will often find one here. This
keeps you from being reliant on the system configuration utility.

On each program you don't want to start automatically, check its
Options to see if it has the choice not to start. Many can easily
and best be stopped that way. If that doesn't work, run MSCONFIG
from the Start | Run line, and on the Startup tab, uncheck the
programs you don't want to start automatically.

Click start run and type in msconfig and click on the startup tab.
