My computer just recently went through a re-install of
everything (hardrive re-formatted etc) (2 weeks ago)

my IE6 browser was loaded web pages much faster initially
then now .
I have also just run spyware and adware software and use
norton anti-virus.

Why is it slower , there are no more processes in the
background with all the above software (they are all
manually handled)

The temp directories for IE6 are always cleaned out
regularly on my 2.4 Ghz, 512 ram, win XP home, loads of
HD space, computer.

Why is it slower?

thanks

Andrew,
You may need to clear your TIF as you may have a corrupt file there.

Close all instances of OE and IE
Control Panel | Internet Options | General tab
Click the "Delete Files" button, when prompted place a check in:
"Delete all offline content", click OK
Click the "Clear History" button, click OK.
Click the Settings button, adjust the TIF size to 50 mb, click OK
