Hi,

I am finally taking the plunge and decided to try and
implement windows XP professional at the school where I
work. I am have managed to get them to a stage where they
are all logging in to the windows 2000 server just fine
however, when I go to log on to the XP machine it takes
about 3 to 4 minutes to actual go through the login
process:-
During this time a sub window displays:-
"loading your personal settings"
then
"applying you personal settings"
Everything seems to be working once I have logged in but
is there some way of speeding up the actual login process.

Thanks

How would we know how you have configured your network. Users have gigantic files on the desktop with roaming profiles? See if Is this a roaming profile with cached and server copies.

%SystemRoot%\Debug\UserMode\Userenv.log might shed some light on it.
