When setting up a new computer with the an old .pst folder, after reboot,
outlook created two personal folder sections with the new emails going into
the inbox created automatically. Changing the delivery to the old personal
folder resulted in the new emails going into the correct personal folders
(which would be the old .pst folder). When the user returned today and
rebooted the computer, the old .pst folder only contained yesterday's
emails, the months of previous emails were gone along with the personal
folders created under the Inbox. Yet the contact list, sent folder, ect.
were still intact. The "new" .pst folders were totally gone like they were
never there. Why did this happen. (I am being yelled at for redirecting and
losing the old inbox information!) Any insight for my own piece of mind, as
well as prevention of this occuring the next time, would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.
