speciel caracters missing

i I had imported min mails and contacts/adress book from xp-outlook express
to my new pc with vistaand win-mail
but all danish special caracters are missing, the æ, ø and å are missing, why?

What Country are you from/in now? If your from another Country and now are in
the U.S.A. Those charters made still be there only you don't see them because
you are look for them in your old Countrys symbles,not the in English.

I'am in Denmark and from Denmark,
In the mail program I can see and write the special characters, but the ones
from my adress cartotek is gone and a box show instead
it is also ´ over letters their i transformed to a box
