It may not be called "special text" in FrontPage2002.

We want to create some legal text in one place and then have that text
displayed on many, many web pages. If later we modify the legal text, we
want the changes to be automatically passed to all the web pages that
contain this legal text.

What's this functionality called in FrontPage 2002? Can FrontPage 2002
handle this? Can this be handled without using a database?

Thanks, Cecil:)

Create a web page with your legal text in it and save the page. Open one of the pages that you want to include the legal text in, position your cursor where you want the text to be, and Insert | Web Component | Included Content | Page, browse to the "legal text" page, and click OK. You'll have to do this with every page, but, once you're done, any time you need to change the legal text, the change will be reflected on all the pages automagically.

This would be similar to CSS (i'm used to using CSS in DreamWeaver not in
FP?

No
- it has nothing to do w/ CSS (which is style related)
- it is HTML (which is content related)
