I am trying to learn WORD on my own. I can stumble my way
around but haven't figured out how to get the word " re'sume' " to
handle the 2 "e' "s so they look right but I am proud that I can
change fonts and sizes.

Thanks.......

To get the accented e's in résumé, you can press Ctrl+', e. That is press
Ctrl and the apostrophe key at the same time, then release and type e. For
more such shortcuts and other methods of inserting special characters, see

This worked like the "cent" sign does for me. For "cent" I
press ctrl, /, c but it doesn't appear until I press ctrl, /
again (no c). CTRL+ ', e either gets me the accented e in
the middle of my page or two '' in front of the accented
e... I guess it all depends on how quick I am.

But WHY?
