Today I installed a Belkin USB 2.0 5-port PCI card and now I have no sound. Infact, my computer doesn't even recognize that I have speakers hooked up. Any suggestions on how to get my sound back? Thanks. Lou

Lou, try a different PCI slot.

I didn't try a new slot, but I did remove the card and still have no sound. Why does my computer not even recognize that I have sound connected? When I go to device manager, it says there is no audio.

1. Load Device Manager
2. Look in 'Sound, video and game controllers'
3. Is your sound card listed?
4. Open properties, does it say 'This device is working properly'?
5. Open 'Sounds and Audio Devices' contol panel.
6. Click on Audio, is your sound card specified, if not select it from
list.

I'm not sure the name of my soundcard, but everything listed there says "device is working properly" When I go to sounds and audio devices it says "No audio detected" and there is no list under the audio tab. My audio was working fine before I installed the USB port, so I know they do work. Any more suggestions? Thanks for all the help.
