Speakers won't work

I reinstalled windows and now my speakers won't work. I've tried all 3 plugs
and no difference. It's not detecting them. Why is that? What did I do wrong
while reinstalling? It was fine before... How can I fix it?

Are the speakers ON.
Is the volume turned UP on both the computer and speakers?

Go to START - SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL.. locate the icon that will take you
to audio and sound settings.. if your sound card is not showing, your
speakers will never work..
 
Do yuo have PCI sound card or on board sound?
You didn't make dumb mistake like me and plug into onboard sound instead of
sound card?? Hate to admit that!!!

We all do things that we know better and hate to admit. I could give you a
list of mine!
