Hi Ralph, I have never heard of speakers that needed a device driver. Have you checked the basics? a) are they pluged in to the correct jack on the soundcard? b) if they are powered speakers are they pluged in to a grounded electrical outlet? c) have you checked settings in the control panel under multimedia?

Speakers don't have drivers! Just think about it. What do you plug your
speakers into (on the back of the computer)?

Whoa up.. :) .. I am not looking for speaker drivers cos my 'hole' drivers
work really well.. I got them from www.creative.com .. they have a few
'hole' drivers there.. as does the Hercules Fortissimo site.. all OS's
supported.. :)

I have had the same problems with speakers and microphone
on an Audigy 2 Platinum card from Creative. The way I
resolved it was to try all the ports on the card, as none
of the configuration diagrams in the instruction booklet
were correct. Both my microphone and speakers work
correctly now although acording to creative they arent
pluged in to the correct ports.
