I have some Altec Lansing Speakers with a subwoofer, & I cannot get them to
work with Windows Vista. I went to their website to download drivers, but
none were available. I never needed software before, they were just plug &
play. The speakers that came with my new computer are built into my monitor
& they really suck!
Any suggestions?

Are they USB speakers? If not, you would have to get the drivers for your
sound card as well (onboard sound or addon card like Sound Blaster, Turtle
Beach, etc.).

I am having the same problem and have not found a way to correct it. If you do find a fix please post it or email it to me @ (e-mail address removed)

I've had the same problem. Vista won't update to the working audio version
of Vinyl AC'97 Codec Driver. You need the Vinyl AC'97 Codec Combo Driver
(WDM). I think I got this through the VIA web site which will foward you
another site that lists the drivers available. Also, DON'T go to the drivers
under the Vista heading at this site. Use the Windows XP heading to find the
upgrade for the audio drivers. This will work for Vista. Trust me, it took
me a while to figure this out.
