Speakers...HP Pavillon a1720n

I just bgt a HP pavillon a1720n with Vista...my old speaker volume is very
low...I habe volume at max..any suggestions..speakers are CREATIVE CS46

You've checked the volume control on the speakers themselves (if there
is one), the volume control on your keyboard (if there is one) and the
various volume levels in the Volume Mixer in Windows?

Each app (plus Windows sounds) has it's own control now and Windows
sounds are much quieter by default than in the past.
