Speaker problem

i just finished reformating my comp with the windows xp cd
but my comp doesnt find my speaker hardware
its turned on and has the green light
anyone know how to fix this?

i have the compaq flc presario speaker system

Hi Sorakh
First off, welcome to PCR..
You say you have reformatted..?? Was this a clean install..? Did you update the drivers for your Mobo etc..? Check in Device manager to see if the drivers are upto date..
 
yes i did a fresh installment of xp
and im a noob
i did all the windows update
but not sure about the devices
and im in device manager but how do i check if they r up to date

Don't put yersen down mate..We all make mistakes..In device manager, can you see any yellow question marks next to any of the devices..?If you can, then means the driver for said device is missing and could be the cause of your problem..
