speaker issues

sound only comes out of one of my speakers. They are the Harmon/Kardon
speakers that came with the computer. is it the speaker itself or what?

May be the speakers, but two other possibilities come to mind:
1. Check the sound control panel to ensure that somebody did not
accidentally
mute one speaker.
2. Remove the sound cables (sound card to first speaker, and inter-speaker),
wipe off the connectors, then reinsert the cables. This is a common
problem.
