Speaker Icon Does Not Appear In Taskbar

The speaker icon doesn`t appear in my taskbar lately. I have even been
to the control panel
to regulate the volume, and have even made sure the box was checked
"place volume icon in taskbar", but it doesn`t appear then either.

Check these links for options for recovering the missing icon:

If none of these work, you can also go to Control Panel>Add/Remove
Programs>Windows Items>Multimedia>Details
Then remove (unclick) everything that has any mention of Sound, Volume
or Audio in it.
After they have been removed, re-click on the boxes to re-install all
of these items. You will then have to reboot

Right click the taskbar and choose Properties | Customize.

I`m really not sure myself, unless it was the directions given me, on
this group.
I did have to wait and it just re-appeared.

Thanks for getting back.
Sounds like you've been lucky. Most things that "just appear" on my
computer are bad.
