One of my client is using SPC-XL demo version for his MS Excel 2000. Its a
demo version that expires every 15 days. We are planning to purchasing one
license but before we do that, is there a free software add-in for this
feature? Here is the complete overview of the product:
http://www.sigmazone.com/spcxl_features.htm or see list of quality features
if you cant access the web:

Control Charts
Analysis Diagrams
Analysis Tools
Access to 15 Continuous and 6 Discrete Distributions
Generation of Random Numbers
MSA (Measurement System Analysis) or gage capability
Problem Identification Tools
Quality Tools

As I see the price, it cost around $199 dollars for just an Excel Add-in. If
you can send me some links that my client will use an alternative for SPC
XL.

Do not assume that distribution functions in SPC-XL are better than in
Excel, just because this is a commercial add-in.

Benchmarking distribution calculations in SPC-XL is difficult because of
an interface that only permits one calculation at a time and requires
you to write down the (less than full precision) displayed result,
rather than having a cell that you can reference or copy/paste. I have
only looked at the Chi-Squared distribution in SPC-XL, but the inverse
appears to used Excel's CHIINV function. The distribution calculation
may round the supplied x value before calculating with CHIDIST, or it
may use an independent calculation; but the results, while different
than Excel's CHIDIST function, are not particularly more accurate than
CHIDIST.

A more accurate implementation of distribution functions, with a more
flexible interface is Ian Smith's VBA library of probability functions

Thanks for your reply Jerry!

My client is using SPC XL for histogram that an ordinary excel cannot do it
according to him. He can set statistical curve with that feature from
SPC-XL.
