Spanned volumes

I want to copy a file from HD to floppy using XP Pro. However, it's approx
2.5kb i.e. too big for 1 floppy. Any ideas?

I had a look on the MS Help & Support Center. It gave clues about spanned
volumes & converting to a dynamic disk using Disk Management snapin / Disk
Part.

Depending on what it contains, it's possible that it might
compress enough to fit if you zip it.

If not, there are several freeware programs that let you span a
file over more than one diskette. Also, almost all of the
standard zip utilities have this capability.

The easiest way and the way I would do it is to use 'WinZip this is a
compression program which allows you to split the zip file into any size you
like. in your case 1.44MB chunks to fit on to floppies. www.winzip.com
there are other programs that do the same like winrar for one.

I don't believe XP pro on it's onw has software to do this. Using
Winzip, on XP Pro, as others suggested, will work.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Thanks. However, I really want to know if it can be done by Windows
XP pro?

You're welcome, and no--there is no built-in way to do this. A
third-party solution is necessary.
