I'm looking for a good spam fighter that would hopefully (maybe) bounce the
messages back to the sender. Frankly anything that is very easy to
configure that I don't have to read my messages at the server would be
great, something with easy to set up rules to block what I don't want but to
let through all the rest. Am getting an enormous amount of penis
patch/enlargement spam that I neither signed up for nor can I unsubscribe as
none of the unsubscribe links are valid. It's really getting to irritate me
and I'm not getting much help from Direcway, my ISP.

Thanks

Forget about trying to bounce the spam messages back ... you'd only be contributing to the flotsam on the 'net, as only a small percentage
would actually bounce to the right place, as I understand it. Either
report them manually (via SpamCop, etc.), or forget about that aspect
of it, IMO.

Get a good spam filter in place, such as POPFile (which is Bayesian, and will "learn" what you consider spam or not-spam) or one of the
many others talked about here on a regular basis (search the
archives).

Did you hear the one about the dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac?
He would stay up late every night and wonder if there was a dog.

You want K9 to filter out email spam. It is really good, I like it
better than Mail Watcher. It has Bayesian filtering, and regex
filters on To, From, Subject, Body and more headers. Don't bother
bouncing the messages back. It just clogs up the internet with more
junk mail, and it doesn't work anyway.

Do you think if spammers are sending 1000s of unwanted emails that
they will update their lists for addresses which bounce back? No,
they just want a quick buck.
