Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent spam filter? My boss won't
use the built in junker and he doesn't want to upgrade our systems.

Thanks..

SpamPal.
Plugin: Bayesian, RegEx, and HTML-Modify.

All are free. You don't even have to write up a purchase order.

But then, these are for Internet e-mail accounts (POP3). You didn't
mention your version of Outlook or if you are connecting to POP3/SMTP
server or to Exchange. But since you mention SpamEnder then you must be
using POP3/SMTP e-mail accounts.

- SpamEnder costs money.
SpamPal is free.

- SpamEnder works only with Outlook by using a plug-in (Outlook Express
doesn't support plug-ins). If they get a version to work with OE, it
will be a wrap-around executable (i.e., its runs and then it loads OE),
similar to how OE-QuoteFix works (to fix quoting in newsgroup messages).
SpamPal works with all POP3-capable e-mail clients since it runs as a
local proxy.

I'm sure there are other comparisons between the two but I figure these
should be plenty for you decide if you want to spend money and have
limited e-mail client support or to get the solution for free and
support any e-mail client that you may use.

Thanks for the info Vanguard.

I was incorrect on saying that you did not mention your version of
Outlook. It was specified in the Subject line. DOH! (and slaps head).
Since SpamPal runs as a proxy to which any POP3 e-mail client can
connect, it should work for Outlook 98.
