spam email that restarts my computer

Recently I've been getting spam emails with links that have restarted my
machine as soon as I clicked them. Now, of course it is stupid of me to even
click them but that is besides the point. My question is, does anyone know
if these links are doing anything to my machine other than restarting? I do
have norton internet security and adaware installed, but is there anything
else I should be doing?

Thanks,
JG

Scanned with A V? Do you have scripting enabled in OE? I say scan from boot
disk.

I think that can be stopped by going to "Windows Update" and installing the
critical updates.

Had the same thing with mine - although mine also buggered around with the
BIOS and caused the need for me to go out and buy a completely new
motherboard.

Verrry Nasty.
