Using w2k server with AD. Does anybody know an easy way to
deploy accross the network SP4?
Is there a better way then GPO? And if not what is the
best way to go and do this with GPO? Please explane GPO
permissions.
I tested this on my test env. but doesn't seem to work for
clients even though the right permissions are set... am i
probably missing something... (all clients are w2kpro and
part of the domain AD)
Please help.

Well i did find an article and it doesn't look like i'm
doing anything wrong... but in my test env. clients still
don't get updated...
I created a network share called SP4 and browsed from the
package install to that path... ( tried this
too:\\server_name\path_to_pachage\update.msi) and still
nothing..... any thoughs?

Is this GPO set on OU that holds Computer accounts ? SP4 should be assigned
on computer configuration/software installation GPO settings. Normally it
takes some time for GPO to apply, but you can force a GPO update by issuing
secedit /refreshpolicy machine_policy at the client.
Are other GPO settings applying normally on your system ?

FWIW, I've had limited success pushing out SP3 in this manner. Out of 25
machines in the site I tried it at, all but three updated perfectly. The
remaining three were done manually by the local support staff. Never did
figure out what was different about those three machines.

I expect I'll probably rollout SP4 in the same manner for that client.
Maybe I'll have better luck this time.
