SP4 will not install

As other messages I am having trouble installing SP4 for
2000.

Shortly after beginning, I get the following error
message: The file c:\winnt\servicepackfiles\i386
\keyboard.sysis open or in use by another application.

I cannot seem to fix the problem.

Help is appreciated

have you tried to install SP4 in Safe Mode yet?
