I recently was applying SP4 to my Win2k laptop. After
installing the Service pack when I boot up my computer I
get the following error:
Stop: c0000135 {Unable to Locate DLL}
The dynamic link library winsrv could not be found in the
specified path Default Load Path.
Please need assistance on this

Hello Sean,

Sounds like that winsrv or a file that it depends on didn't get upgraded
properly. Boot into the Recovery Console and verify that winsrv.dll and
basesrv.dll were updated with the service pack. (6/19/2003 or later) Both
files are in Winnt\System32. If they weren't updated then pull them off of
another SP4 machine and bring them over on a floppy, or you can get them out
of the SP4.cab file.
(winnt\driver cache\i386\sp4.cab) Let me know if you need instructions on
this.

If you chose to archive files during the installation then you can try to
uninstall the service pack from Recovery console:

825062 Service Pack 4 Permits You to Remove the Service Pack by Using the

If your winsrv and basesrv look fine then you may have a corrupt software
hive.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,
