Sounds like it might be a catalog problem (oem7.cat). Make sure that you
have the lastest Windows Installer installed on the machine first. If that
doesnt work, try renaming all the oem*.cats in the catroot folder and
reapplying the SP.

On two system (one W2K Pro and one W2K Server) I get
diuring the installation of SP4 the following error
message: Service pack 4 setup-error. An error in updating
your system has occurred
after that I have to roll back the installation or leave
an inconsitent system.
I tried to repair the installation, I installed the
actual Windows Installer, nothing helps.
Any idea? I would be pleased for a solution.
