On the advice of the Microsoft website I upgraded from SP2
to SP4, as I wanted to ensure that worm patches would work.

Now, on starting windoes, I get error messages to say that
a driver, or a sys file, has not loaded.

More importantly it has completely screwed up one of my
disk partitions. On running fdisk, I'm told that the FAT
is damaged.

How do I fix a damaged FAT on an FAT32 system? If I cant,
then it will take hours of work to fix; anyone able to
assist?

thanks

Nic

SP4 did NOT "screw up" your PC !

Your PC was already screwed up - SP4 may have taken it over the edge.

If you have a File Allocation Table (FAT) problem, Double Click on "My Computer",

Right Click on the affected hard disk and choose "Properties", choose "Tools" then "Check
now" check both boxes the "Start".

If it can't perform a check Disk now, reboot.
