Hi,
I've been testing the installation of SP4 on my test
cluster system, but have met with a couple of problems.
First I always get the ScriptMaps error - no problem
according to MS article 824391
The second one is more problematic - around 50% of the
time one or both nodes give a regsvr32 error during the
sp4iis installation part. When I run a file monitor during
the installation it looks like when it is sucessful it
runs various tasks using 'inetinfo', but when it fails
inetinfo is never run.
Each time I run my test I start with the same data/state
in each nodes system drive and the shared storage as I
have the data backed up to a certain level.
(W2KSP3+hotfixes 327696/823980 SQL2K+SP3 with default &
one named instance)
I also use the same SP4 CD so that the update files are
the same each time.
I'm using the correct method of installation of pausing
nodes and moving groups, and have tried the usual methods
of stopping ALL non-essential services. I have also tried
backing out the hotfixes. I also checked on the attributes
of files to ensure they were not read only.
Anyone else seen the same problem - is there a cure?
I have many customers asking if they can install SP4 but
at this time I'm not sure if they will see the same
problem
