Hi Jay
See the thread below for a suggestion which might work.
To your second question:
Yes, you can uninstall SP4 - provided you chose to archive/backup Files
during Setup. If you have done so then go to Start->Settings->Control
Panel->Add/Remove Programs and there scroll down until you can find 'Windows
2000 Service Pack 4'. If you want to uninstall it, choose remove.
If you cannot fine it in 'Add/Remove Programs' then do the following:
First, please enable Windows to show Hidden Files and Folders. Here is how
to do it:
- Open 'My Computer'
- In the Menu 'Tools' select 'Folder Options...'
- There go to 'View'
- In the pane there select 'Show Hidden Files and Folders'
To confirm your choice, click 'OK'. Now Windows will show all hidden Files
and Folders.
Once you have enabled this head to the following directory:
C:\WINNT\$NtServicePackUninstall$\spuninst (here c:\ is the %systemdrive%,
ie the Drive which you have installed Windows to). Once you are in the
folder spuninst double click on "spuinst.exe" and your Service Pack
Uninstaller will start.
If you still cannot find those Files/Folders, you most probably had not
chosen to archive Files during Setup. Then the only thing which could help
you is an Inplace Upgrade of Windows 2000.
Hope this helps. Regards,
Fabio
