I see one similar post here, but no replies from MS. Sure would be nice to
get some input from you guys (MS)...
At the end of my installation of sp4, I get a dialog box with the title:
sp4iis. The error message is "Unable to connect to metabase".
I click OK and immediately get another dlg with a title of sp4iis. The
error message is "Setup failed to remove ism.dll script mappings. Service
Pack Setup will abort".
Immediately followed by another dlg titled "Service Pack 4 Setup Error".
The error message says "An error in updating your system has occurred.
Select Ok to undo the changes that have been made...blah blah blah."
I tried to install sp4 3 times. The first time I though I might have got
this because I left Outlook open. The second time was after a fresh reboot.
The 3rd time I had stopped every service on my notebook that I dared stop.
Every time ended with this same exact error.
My notebook is running Win2k sp3 with every available critical update.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Andre
