Hi Noah,
Some things you can try:
- Boot into Safe Mode; if successful, try uninstalling SP4 via Add/Remove
Programs (will only work if you chose to save uninstall information during
the SP4 installation).
- Boot to Recovery Console, and run the SP4 uninstall batch file:
WINNT\$NTServicePackUninstall$\SPUninst\SPUNINST.BAT
Browse to the above location and type: BATCH SPUNINST.BAT
This will start the uninstall process, which *could* take an extreme
amount of time (hour or more)
After completing this process, type EXIT to restart the system, and
verify that you can now boot
If you uninstall SP4 via the Recovery Console, it's critical after booting
successfully to "officially" uninstall the Service Pack via Add/Remove
Programs, or to re-install it.
