I've just installed Win2K, successfully installed SP1.
Windows Update says next install should be SP4. Every
time I run the dynamic online install, my connection to
the download server fails. In fact, my connection to the
Internet fails (cable modem via Ethernet card, normal
throughput and reliability prior to SP4 download). When I
restart the computer, my Internet connection is back to
normal -- until I try to do the SP4 download again.
I get a popup from the installer referring me to a Link on
the "Windows Service Pack Website", with the link
titled "Problems Installing the Service Pack" or similar.
This is supposed to give me the option of an SP4 download
suitable for completely offline installation. No matter
how I search Microsoft, I cannot find this or any other
link to such a download.
Can anyone help? I'd rather not wait for the CD version
to get here -- and worry that it might crash my Internet
connection when installed. Thanks!
