Check your Windows Update.log and the setupapi.log files (both in WINNT)
and
see what kind of errors that they are logging.

I ran both the EXPRESS install from Microsoft's web site and the
download
install. Process continues seemingly through the entire process
and
then
says it cannot complete the install and ask if I wanted to
uninstall.
Of
course, I accept to uninstall.
What can I do to determine the reason? I cannot find an answer on
Microsoft's Knowledgebase nor on this user group.
