After reading these boards and every other tech support,
Windows-oriented board I can find (and those are many), I
continually see horror stories after people have installed
this SP4.
To date, Microsoft has issued one or two "hotfixes" that
one must call to get. (I actually only found 1, but heard
reference to a 2nd.)
In light of all this hoo-ha, headache, and frustration,
does anyone here (all you great MVPs) have any insight
into when they'll either reissue SP4 or put it out as an
SP5? I recall them saying with the advent of W2K they
were going to (try to) quit having to do this.
In the meanwhile, I can't get a fix on my own svchost.exe
errors and I can't get ahold of Microsoft or some other
human to get me to the fix a KB article discusses. I'm
sitting here with a sparkling clean, newly rebuilt system
that barely runs.
Come on. Someone give me some hope?
