I'm not 100% sure it's SP4's fault, but i have a Dell
Inspiron 8200 with a mini-pci Truemobile WiFi NIC. I had
been running Windows 2000 Server SP3, and becuase of some
unrelated file system corruption problems, I
reformatted/reinstalled, this time loading SP4 (without
the option to uninstall - a mistake I won't repeat). The
WiFi NIC now permanently says "Network cable unplugged",
even within range of a properly configured WAP (other
computers can access it). I have the right passwords
entered, and, as I said, it worked before reinstalling the
OS. As far as I know, the *only* difference is SP4 vs.
SP3. I know that SP4 has some "improvements" for wireless
networking; does anyone know if these could possibly
conflict with my network? Is there anything else, short
of reinstalling the OS, I could do to diagnose the problem?
Thanks,
