Just SP3. It includes what's in the earlier service packs.

or http://tinyurl.com/2denpw

As a general rule, this is almost always true. Each service pack
includes the previous ones, and the previous don't have to be
installed first.

*addendum to this rule...

If you have a Windows XP CD that is "RTM" and contains *no service packs*
what-so-ever and you install using that CD - in order to install SP3 onto
that clean installation of Windows XP - in my experience you *will* need to
install Windows XP's SP1a or SP2 before you will be able to install SP3 on
top of it.

Even Windows XP SP3's own documents seem to point to this:
http://download.microsoft.com/downl...982/Overview of Windows XP Service Pack 3.pdf

"SP3 is cumulative, so users can install SP3 on top of Windows XP SP1 or
SP2."
and
"You can run the SP3 update package on any edition of Windows XP SP1 or SP2.
For example, you can
run the SP3 update package on a computer running the Windows XP Media Center
Edition with SP1. The
exceptions are Embedded editions for XP."

**addendum #2: You can, it seems, integrate (some mistakenly call it
"slipstream") SP3 into any level of Windows XP CD (32bit.)

Well, there seems to be some inconsistency in what Microsoft says
about this. Yes, the link you cite says that, but look at the link I
cited, which says the opposite.

However, I have not personally tried to install SP3 onto an RTM
version of XP, and if you have and failed, I'll accept what you say,
and apologize to Timski for the misinformation.

Thanks for the useful information. I think, just to be on the safe side, I
will install XP RTM and SP1, then jump to SP3. Cheers!
