We have recently bought 70 new HP3005 laser printer for our organization.
These were to replace old HP1100 series printers. All of our machines are
SP2 with Office 2003 and some Office 2007. Using the newest PCL6 drivers
with these printers have caused problems with our Office 2003 users and
reverting back to the PCL 5e drivers cause a different set of problems for
our Office 2007 users. We have been round and round with HP and have no good
solution.
What we did notice was that upgrading to SP3 installs a new version of the
unidrv.dll that fixes every problem! Unfortunately, SP3 has caused problems
with some of out legacy apps and we arent able to move to it as an
organization yet.
Is there any WSUS update that will provide just this update to the
unidrv.dll for us? I heard that there was but may not be available anymore.
It would solve so many problems. The version of the undrv.dll that we
currently have on everything is 6.0.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101-2205). The
version that fixes everything is 6.0.6001.22127 (vistasp1_ldr.080302-0124).
Thanks for any help!
