I recently installed SP2 and ever since I have been
unable to use my file sharing software. I have already
enabled the use of the software through the exceptions in
the new firewall software but it still does not work.
Does anyone have any info as to why this will not work.
I am attempting to use Kazaa for purely legit reasons - I
share files with researchers in many parts of the world -
the files are too big to email so we share via Kazaa. I
understand that (rumor) that MS disable Kazaa through the
instalation of SP2 - is this true? Can I turn it back on?

You cannot open Sharman Networks Kazaa version 2.52 in Windows XP with Service Pack 2

what about Kazaa Lite version 2.4? Why doesn't Microsoft
let you know this before you install SP2? Could/should I
just roll back my install of SP2?

No idea about Kazaa Lite - perhaps you could extrapolate?

Microsoft should inform you that a third-party (non-Microsoft and normally
questionable usage) may not work beyond the fact that SP2 turns on the
firewall and may affect your network connectivity with some applications?

You could roll-back - but what would be the point? SP2 is not going to
change nor go away and sooner or later you will have to choose whether you
want to continue upgrading Windows XP or use a different operating system.
