Boy does microsoft have a ways to go. I will describe my 24 hours of hell from the sp2 beta. First of all, after deploying the sp2 on my P4 3.0Ghz with intel 865GBF board and 512MB of memory my 40gb drive threw itself into the notorious windows boot loop. Needless to say, I was just about to give up on this drive and pop it into my shuttle box which is running an amd 2500 with 256mb. The drive booted and I was able to navigate the desktop. Whatever the case be I decided to install it back into the p4 and try it again. well that didnt work. I found that if I uninstalled my slave drive that was basically just a storage device, that the machine booted. I have no clue. I also found out that my BT devices weren't compatible with the ms sp2. Funny thing is that the bt mouse and keyboard I have are made by MS. Well, I just gave up fussing with the pack and really dont have the time to sift through billys bugs because I dont get paid to do that, but I think I will forget the next sp. Also my ie failed to function properly. Take this one back to the drawing board boys and girls, because it needs a serious over haul. My machine also housed two 40gb wd drives and the memory is kingston. The bt device really got garbled up. and all my ie surfing would lock up or freeze up even after disabling those little security features that will get hacked out soon enough. Thanks BILL. Don't think ill upgrade to longhorn since its release date is only around the corner. Uninstalled sp2. all i wanted was the expanded bt capabilities with my ms bt transeiver.

Learning: Don't install beta (which means 'unfinished and probably will
break something') software. If you do, report back via the reporting
mechanism clearly exposed to you when you installed it.

Hey, since you enjoy being an unpaid beta tester without the
professional qualification for such, I've got a new stove top where the
burner elements are supposed to cool instantly when the power gets
removed. Now give me your hand. Stop struggling. After all, you
volunteered. Just press your hand here atop the burner. Stop
struggling! Come on, press down, it should be safe, come on.
"OWWWWWW!!!!" Well, I said it was beta. Guess it needs more work.

Complain to other beta testers. Complain to the developers to whom you
are supposed to report such problems. Use the newsgroups and
communication channels specified for beta testing. If you didn't want
to participate in the beta test process then don't!

Besides the fact that you must really love to pay 200% above cost for software. This is a general discussion and you are free to discuss your problems about your stove. Maybe you want to try placing your pc with your beloved 200% above cost operating system on top there while your burner is on. That usually solves all of MS problems. Maybe you are one of those gimps that billy keeps locked up in his dungeon and steals all of your vaulable knowledge. Anywho, good luck with that stove problem buddy. You might want to get a professional to look at that. Your pal, Ryan
 
What the hell would I want to that for. I am a professioanl. As I stated before any a#&hole can be an msce. Look at me. Besides that, I'm not saying that I didn't expect problems. Just funny how everyone conforms to good old MS. I am not a qualified beta tester nor would I want to be. Just wanted to see what other people had to say. Lots of billy lovers in here.
 
Unfortunately the machine was in a loop and I uninstalled before I could use any of those so called mechanism. Thanks Rob for your great words of wisdom.

Thanks Denny. I realize that, but figured I would get a better response here. I was right. Most of the people in here so far, with the exception of Denny, are just plain dumba#$es that spend far too much time playing with themselves. Not like I have all day to play with someone elses software and finger out the bugs for them. I already get the software free or just above the cost $5.00 dollars per copy of the o.s. Thanks for giving a logical reply Denny.
 
Well, actually I did have a clue why the machine was booting, but why should I tell billy? He's rich, smart, and should be able to figure this out himself. I'll give him time, not like anyone of us can do anything special to speed it up. I only run three copies of MS os. The rest are Linux. You like windows. I prefer Linux. No big deal. I use whatever gets the job done. I would hope that you would do the same. Oh, the clue happened to driver related which is obvious. And it happened to bt related. But you would have already been on top of that because you have a clue. Thanks, Ryan
