Everyone seems to think that SP2 will magically fix their problems. In fact
SP2 will create far more problems than it solves. I will never be installing
SP2.

Not installing Critical Updates potentially leaves the computer
vulnerable to problems.

If you go by "If it isn't broke don't fix it" as a reason to not
install a Critical Update, it is already broke, you just don't know
it.

How do you know "SP2 will create far more problems than it solves."?
Please state the source with specifics since you state it as fact.
There is no way you could know that about a product that does not yet
exist.
The prerelease versions do not count since there are changes made
since they were released.
This leads us that you are making assumptions.
We all know what it means to "assume".

Many of the current issues would have been non issues if people would
have simply kept up with the current patches.
Sasser, Blaster are the ones that quickly come to mind.

If you take other precautions to adequately protect your computer, you
should state as much when you begin to suggest others leave their
computers vulnerable to future issues.
To do otherwise is to give less than half the pertinent information.

MS's own website states that SP2 "may break" certain applications.
I made no such suggestion, I just stated "I" will not be installing
it......so much for "assumptions".

Testy

"may break" is quite a way from "will create".
By stating "I will never be..." is the suggestion.
Glad to see you backed off your "will create" assumption.

Considering all the problems SP1 has and still causes it would be a safe
assumption. Stating what I will do in no way implies I recommend that to
others. I know much more than most.

Based upon your insightful and in-depth analysis of all aspects of SP2, I
have come to the conclusion that not only are you an idiot, but a troll as
well. I really wish you would stop wasting your time with your childish
posts.

(Is your name short for testicle?)

.. "I know much more than most."

What problem does sp1 have. I have used it over a very long time now and my system is fine. sp2 will have more security feature that will be useful. anyone know when it will be release?

Testy is an idiot that posts drivel that he can't back up. He thinks he
knows everything. I am running SP2 RC2 on 7 different machines of different
vintages, procs and OS's, and have only had very minor issues. Testy is a
troll who does not deserve the attention he gets in here. He spouts his
"I'll never do this" and "I've never had a Virus" and " I know more than
most" as if that will impress anyone...If in fact he knew more than most
then he would know how to correctly integrate SP2 RC2 into his system and
have it work, just as many of us have. Instead...he goes off on his "I'll
never install SP2 because I'm too stupid to troubleshoot" garbage...

Just look of the dozens of posts that still appear here each day. I have no
problems with SP1, I ran the Beta of SP2 on one of my computers but it
doesn't do anything for me. I have properly secured my computer. I do not
use IE, OE, Auto Update nor XP's firewall so why would I need it. I
selectively apply updates that apply to my own particular situation.

I do not go to porn or unknown websites, download cutesy free software, or
open unknown e-mail.

I never stated there was any problem with SP2 it just will not do anything
for me as I have properly secured my computer. I ran the Beta worked fine I
just do not need any of its features. No need to resort to name calling,
intelligent conversation is possible.
