i'm a tad frustrated in that i can't find any reference to an "issue"
sp2 has introduced into ie6 with all the new security features.

it seems that a copy of a web site on my hard drive which links jpeg
images triggers a security warning and interprets clicking on the link
to the picture as an attempt to "download" it rather than just display
it. this only happens when the website is stored on my own computer,
the same page on the net displays the image correctly.

is anyone aware of this problem or a work around? messing with the
security settings doesn't seem to make any difference.

many thanks,

ras

Try the following and see if it helps:

To restore the default file association after SP2 go to
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm
Download, unzip and merge the REG file, "JPE/JPG/JPEG Association Fix"
Some image/graphics programs will change file associations.

Allow active content to run in files on My Computer - Windows XP Service
Pack 2:
http://www.winxptutor.com/lmzunlock.htm
or .........
Internet options>Advanced tab..scroll down to Security and check Allow
active content to run in My Computer.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps
