SP2 upgrade?

I am still running XP service pack 1.
Is it ok to upgrade to SP2 after spyware is installed?

I have at least 1 bug that this didn't fix (search from the start menu does
nothing).

There is at least one spyware that interferes with installing SP2, but
Windows Update anticipates this and provides pre-SP2 patches that avoid
this problem.

If what you meant was "is it OK to update to SP2 after MS *anti* spyware
program is installed" -- well, it's beta so I wouldn't do it unless you
want to do it on a test machine.
 
I would strongly recommend that you do update to Service Pack 2.

So--to do that and also follow Kent's advice, I'd recommend uninstalling
Microsoft Antispyware, restarting, and then installing Service Pack 2. I've
installed Microsoft Antispyware on a few dozen XP SP2 machines, so there's
no compatibility issue there.
