Sp2 update - how do I get back from it

I just clicked to do updates and had SP2 installed. Only thing now is I can't
work as normal. It's completely screwed things up. I use Zonealert Pro as my
firewall and the machine seems to be ignoring me turning off the Microsoft
firewall. I can't get into my bank account as it has a double pop-up and even
wth pop-up protection off it won't let me in.

My emails no longer give me previews of images online and I need to click to
allow normal functions through the firewall. Nothing on Zonealert seems to
have changed so I can't figure it out.

How can I shut this microsoft crud off?

To turn off the MS Firewall:

Start > Control Panel > Network Connections
Select your NIC
Right Click and choose properties
Choose the Advanced Tab > Windows Firewall > settings
Click "Off"

However, the problems you describe with the pop-up problems and the images
in your emails (assuming here that you're using a web-based email service)
are related to Internet Explorer settings that are new in XP SP2. To adjust
the behavior of pop-ups and other security related issues in SP2, check:

Start > Control Panel > Internet Options
Under the privacy tab you should be able to control this behavior
specifically, and even add your banking site to the list and choose 'Allow
All' to really open it up.

I am not familiar with Zone Alert, but when I google'd it, everything
pointed to Zone Labs' Zone Alarm, which I also run. There is also an
additional layer of popup behavior control with Zone Alarm in the Privacy >
ad-blocking settings. Another thing about Zone Alarm is to make sure you
have the latest update, as they did make some post-SP2 changes to the
product.
