sp2 question

after sp2 installed if you had on hdd from original os cd the i386 folder
did sp2 upgrade the i386 folder files?

if not how do you get it upgraded to sp2?

No. Reinstalling Windows will make it necessary to apply the SP2
again.
 
I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but as I understand it you would
like to integrate the service pack into the I386 folder that you have
copied from the CD.

Check for an i386 folder in WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles . Not sure if
this behavior is present on systems with an OEM install of XP, which
stores the OS in <root drive>:\i386 .
Check the date of the files in C:\i386 to see if that's where it is
stored for an OEM v. of XP.

An MS disk install of XP would put SP2's folder in
WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles .
