SP2 question...

I've heard that users running SP2 can only download executables that have
been digitally signed - is this true? I don't see mention of this on the
Microsoft website; as a matter of fact, what is described on
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/ieoeoverview.mspx sounds very similar
to what IE currently does as far as warning the user about possibly
dangerous files.

Is there any truth to what I've heard, or have I been worrying for no
reason?

Also...

I noticed on the page linked below that "Internet Explorer has put a stop to
this behavior by prohibiting Web sites from running scripts that resize or
reposition your browser windows." Will my default start page be affected by
this? I currently have my startpage set to
"javascript:resizeTo(800,600);moveTo(250,205);document.location.href='http:/
/mail.yahoo.com'". I do this because I try to make sure all of our web
pages will display fully in 800x600, so I force my browser to that size, as
well as forcing it to start in the center of my screen.

As my start page is a script that resizes and repositions my browser window,
it sounds like I might be out of luck... don't suppose there's any way to
get around this .. ?

Hi Tony - you can still download whatever you want to. Microsoft has
changed the look of the download and run prompts, though, so they're easier
to understand.

No. You get a prompt, asking if you want to run it.

No. If you download one and try to run it you will get a warning box,
to say run it nevertheless (and can check to say 'don't ask again' for
that program)
