SP2 not installing with Automatic Updates On

None of the PC's in our company are installing SP2, even though all have
Automatic Updates turned on and are set to install at 3am each day. Previous
updates have always installed with no problem, but SP2 does not.

Is this possibly related to the fact all our PC's are members of a domain
(NT4) and not workgroup PC's? I find it very strange Microsoft made a big
deal of telling everyone SP2 will auto deploy AND install after 4-12, yet
nothing has happened here.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply! I looked at the article below, but I think we've setup
AU correctly - AU has been operating just fine for many, many months,
downloading and installing updates at 3am (assuming our employees leave
their PC on ). Nothing here has changed. Then SP2 was downloaded to all our
PC's and when Apr. 12 rolled around I thought SP2 would then install at 3am,
like all the other updates have been doing, but so far no one here has it
installed, it's just downloaded.

I can't believe we're the only company having this problem, very strange. Of
course I sent this lengthy email to the entire company las week explaining
what was going to happen, possible problems, how to tell if SP2 is
installed, etc... and now I'm getting funny looks from people and having to
explain I don't know what's going on...

Any other thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

SP2 does not automatically install. There are 3rd party desktop
management solutions used in conjunction with AD and NDS that may be
able to have it do an unattended installation, but by it's nature it
must be launched and then the EULA agreed to before the installation
procedes.

The April 12 date was only relevant to only those few who installed the tool
to delay the installation of SP-2.

Sp-2 may download, but it will not install unless an Administrator accepts
the EULA.
That is one difference between a Service Pack and most other updates with
AU.

Thanks! Actually I did post this to the Windows Update newsgroup first - no
replies for several days. Still no reply. I've also posted to The ElderGeek
XP SP2 forum, http://www.theeldergeek.com ... 14 views, no replies... Again,
I can't beleive I'm the only one havign this problem...

Thanks again

Thank you, thank you, thank you.... you would think MS would have made a
point of mentioning minor detail...
