Mine does the same as others here. 4.7.3000 does not have the Add-In on
the Tools menu anymore where you could download the msnaddin.exe file and
make 4.7 more like MSN Messenger. It also does not prompt you to install
it anymore. Does anyone know if you can just apply msnaddin.exe and gain
back this functionality?

I also came across this post written by anonymous:

"I uninstalled Messenger 4.7.3000 using Start/Run...

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%
\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

And then reinstalled Messenger 4.7.2009 via Windows
Update."

SH: Perhaps this method of re-installing Messenger 4.7.2009 will allow the
msnaddin.exe file to regain its effectiveness if reapplied.

It may also be that the changes in SP2 were made to enhance
security so that undoing those changes introduces an element of risk.
